These terms govern your use of Balikbayan Hub (the "site"). By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. Read them with the privacy notice and the disclosure & ranking policy, which form part of these terms.

Information, not advice

Everything on the site is general information, presented as sourced and dated data, checklists, and tools. It is not financial, tax, legal, accounting, customs, or immigration advice, is not a recommendation or solicitation to use any provider or product, and using the site does not create any advisory, fiduciary, or professional relationship. Your circumstances are not known to us and cannot be reflected here. For a decision that affects your money or your documents, consult a qualified, licensed professional and confirm every figure with the provider or the Bureau of Customs first.

No reliance

You agree that you do not rely on the site as the basis for any decision, and that you are solely responsible for verifying any figure, rule, or limit against the official source before you act on it. The source links are provided for exactly this purpose. The official source, not this site, is the authority.

Accuracy and third parties

Rates, fees, exchange rates, customs limits, document requirements, and rules are set by third parties (couriers, banks, remittance services, marketplaces, and government agencies) and change without notice. We source and date every figure and re-check on a schedule, but we do not warrant that a third party has not changed it since the date shown, and we do not control and are not responsible for any third-party site, service, price, or decision. Links to third-party sites are provided for convenience and do not imply endorsement.

No products or sales

Balikbayan Hub does not currently sell anything. There are no products, purchases, payments, or accounts, and the site never collects payment or billing details. If digital tools are offered for sale in future, these terms will be updated to cover them before anything goes on sale.

Acceptable use

The site is for your personal, lawful use. You agree not to scrape, republish, resell, or systematically copy the content, misrepresent it, remove sourcing or dates, or use it to harm the site or others. The content, layout, and compilation are owned by Balikbayan Hub or its licensors; third-party names and marks belong to their owners and are used only to identify what is being described.

No warranty

The site is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including any implied warranty of accuracy, completeness, currency, fitness for a particular purpose, title, or non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any figure is current at the moment you read it.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Balikbayan Hub, its operator, and anyone working on it will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of money, savings, profits, data, or goodwill, arising from or relating to your use of, or inability to use, the site or any third-party site, service, figure, or rule referred to here, even if advised of the possibility.

Where liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability to you for all claims relating to the site is limited to fifty US dollars (USD 50).

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the law that applies to you, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for your non-excludable statutory consumer rights. Those rights are unaffected by these terms.

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Balikbayan Hub and its operator from any claim or cost arising from your misuse of the site or your breach of these terms, to the extent permitted by law.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Belgium (European Union), without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and subject to any mandatory consumer-protection law of the country where you live, which continues to apply to you. If a court finds any provision unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.

General

These terms, with the privacy notice and disclosure policy, are the entire agreement between you and Balikbayan Hub about the site. Our not enforcing a term is not a waiver of it. You may not assign your rights under these terms; we may assign ours to a successor of the site. We are not liable for failure caused by events beyond our reasonable control.

Changes

We may update these terms and the site's content at any time; maintaining and correcting the data is the point of the site. Changes take effect when posted, and the "last updated" date above will change. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
